The Lensbury Corporate Video

Last year Purple Square Productions produced a corporate promotional video for The Lensbury in Teddington, West London.  With a sports heritage dating back to 1820 when The Lensbury was an exclusive club for Shell staff.

The 14th annual Meetings Industry Marketing Awards held on 9th October 2015 to celebrate the industries most successful marketing campaigns.

The Lensbury’s corporate video was Finalist in the ‘Best Use of Marketing Video’ category.  I was flattered when Maugie Lyon, Marketing and Sales Director of The Lensbury invited me to attend the award ceremony.

The Video Marketing Judges

Paul Harvey, Meetings & Incentive Travel, James Latham, International Meetings review, Renata Wood, Prudential Portfolio Management Group.  This is how the judging panel summarised The Lensbury’s corporate marketing video:

The Lensbury wanted time-starved bookers to understand that it is ‘more than a hotel’.  A video was required to provide a virtual tour of its new bedrooms, events centre, new restaurant and bar areas as well as highlighting its premier rugby pitch ahead of the Rugby World Cup – all on a budget of less than £5,000.

The full HD video includes shots from an aerial drone camera and a Steadicam to showcase its spectacular setting and water activities.  Viewers are able to spool directly to the relevant section of the business.  A target of 500 hits for the year was set for YouTube and it achieved 5,205 in 10 months.

Winners and Finalists

The Competition was tough, we were one of five finalists up against Gleneagles Brand Film with a budget of £38,000 and Zurich Tourism with a budget of £574,000 as well as Failte Ireland, the Chic Outlet Shopping and Eventopedia Virtual Site Inspection.

We sat tight as the winners were called out. Gold went to Gleneagles hotel, Silver to Failte Ireland with Zurich Tourism taking Bronze.  While we didn’t secure a win making the ‘finalists’ list was a great achievement.

We stayed out far too late and had a fantastic night.
